- Joachim, how long have you been a member of the Pistenclub and how did you find out about it?
- I've been a member since 23 July 2020. A friend - who is no longer a friend - introduced me to the club back then. That's how I came to my first event.
- Do you still remember your first track day with the Pistenclub?
- Yes, that was at Bilster Berg. It was a challenging track with fast sections, tight hairpin bends and fascinating topography. I was immediately hooked!
- How often do you now take part in trackdays?
- I drive around twelve to 15 trackdays a year. I set my personal best in 2022 - back then it was a whole 25 trackdays with my brand new Porsche 911 GT3 (992).
- Why did you choose the Pistenclub?
- The Pistenclub impressed me with its great organisation, a pleasant field of participants and a very good price-performance ratio. I've also driven for other organisers - once even for 1500 euros per trackday. But the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. I therefore used this provider exactly twice - the first and the last time.
- Do you have a favourite race track?
- Yes, definitely: Bilster Berg. This track really combines everything - fast straights, technical combinations of bends and a unique elevation profile. It's also easy for me to get to, which is obviously a plus point.

Joachim's favourite place to drive his Porsche 992 GT3 is Bilster Berg.
- What was your first car?
- A 25-year-old VW Beetle. A classic!
- And which car was your first time on the racetrack?
- My first trackday car was a tuned Audi RS6 R with a whopping 765 hp. And that was on the Bilster Berg - an amazing experience!
- Which car do you currently drive on the racetrack?
- I currently drive a Porsche 911 GT3 (992). It's a perfect car for the racetrack, but also for everyday use - my daily commute to work over 45 kilometres of country road is really fun with it.
- Have you done any modifications to your car?
- My RS6 R was modified by Abt and HGP, but the quality of the work done by HGP was really disappointing. A lot of show, little performance for the money. My GT3, on the other hand, is already so good as standard that it doesn't need any major modifications.

Power galore: Porsche 911 GT3 (510 hp) and Audi RS6 R (765 hp).
- Are you also active in motorsport outside of the Pistenclub trackdays?
- Yes, every now and then I visit the DTM as a spectator. The races are always a highlight.
- Is there a motorsport experience that you particularly remember?
- Definitely! I had the opportunity to drive a Formula 2 racing car on the Grand Prix track in Abu Dhabi. That was an incredible experience!
- Do you have a motorsport role model?
- Yes, Walter Röhrl. I admire him for his driving skills and his modesty. I'm even lucky enough to meet him once or twice a year at trackdays.
Joachim, thank you very much for the interview and have fun on the racetrack!
