'Petrol talk' with

Angela and Guido Dentz

06 November 2024 | Member stories

In our ‘petrol talk’ series, we regularly introduce you to your club mates (and female club mates too). This time it's a couple with petrol in their blood, who have been regular guests at our events with their potent muscle cars since 2018.

Angela and Guido, you both come from Frankfurt and are not only involved with cars in your private lives, but also professionally. How did that come about?
Guido: I've been involved with cars since I was a child. Professionally, I'm a master body and vehicle builder and now a self-employed towing company.
Angela: I live my passion for cars to the full. Professionally, I help with breakdowns and&nbspaccidents with the tow truck or pick up incorrectly parked vehicles with my tow truck. In my private life, I love fast cars, long tours and, of course, driving on the racetrack at trackdays. We now also share this passion with our son. In our family, no car remains in standard condition, whether technically or visually.
Your cars can be found regularly in our photo galleries. How often can you be found at our events?
Angela: Depending on how my schedule allows, I drive between five and ten trackdays a year.
Guido: As we usually take part together, that works out for me too. But very importantly, I always drive one more trackday a year than my wife.
Do you have a favourite track that you definitely don't want to miss out on?
Angela: Definitely Spa - the Ardennes rollercoaster is easily accessible for us and simply something special. But if the Red Bull Ring wasn't so far away, we would also be there regularly.
Guido: I can only agree with that. But Zandvoort is also a great track. Each one is special and individual and has its own challenges.
Which cars are you currently driving on the racetrack and what did you use to drive your first kilometres on the track?
Guido: Currently a Camaro ZL1 1LE with 720 hp, which I also drive on the road. Before that it was a Camaro SS, built in 2020, with 405 hp. My wife has since taken over the car. But sometimes we swap it around.
Camaros are not so common on the racetrack. Do the cars work well at high speeds?
Guido: My new car already has the 1LE package from the factory, which was specially developed for use on the racetrack, so not much more needed to be done. I only gave the car a KW suspension, a roll bar and a few little things.
Angela: We had to do a little more to my car. It was always important to us that all components fitted together and that all modifications were registered. In addition to a Brembo brake system with steel flex brake lines and brake cooling and a KW coilover suspension, we also installed a roll bar, bucket seats and harness belts. In addition to a Magnaflow exhaust, a decent music system with a good boom provides the sound inside and out.

Thank you for talking to us. We'll see you on the track again soon.
